Destruction FX is one of Houdini’s strongest features, but it’s easy to get stuck when art directing simulations. Often times we can’t rely on simple collisions to achieve the look that we are after.
This is where we must create the forces from scratch, by combining different growth solvers with custom velocities. Another crucial component is fracturing the geometry in a very specific and art direct-able manner, which we cover extensively in the course.
