Make Your Own Blank Notebook by Courtney St Croix is designed to teach you how to create and sell your own blank notebook on Amazon using Canva and Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) platform.

The course will teach you:

- How to make a cover wrap PDF and interior PDF
- Trim specifications for the KDP platform
- How to optimize your searchability with keywords and categories
- How to set up your account and your listing on Amazon
What You’ll Learn In Make Your Own Blank Notebook?
LESSON 1
Welcome to the course! I can’t wait for you to start building your own BLANK NOTEBOOK to sell on Amazon!
I’ve created some fun and trendy notebooks on Amazon – this course will teach you to do the exact same using only CANVA and Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing POD Platform (Print-On-Demand).
LESSON 2
In this lesson, we’ll discuss the different trim sizes for books published with Amazon KDP and explain the pros and cons of each popular size.
LESSON 3
This lesson will explain how to acquire a template for your cover that you can use in Canva to create a simple cover design that fits all alignment and sizing specifications.
Note: In this lesson, I explain how to find a template using KDP’s cover calculator, which is helpful should you wish to create a notebook later with more than 100 pages. (You’d need another resource outside of Canva, though!)
To make things simple, I’ve also just attached PNG version of the template I use in the example notebook I create throughout this course. It’s 6×9” with 100 pages and meant for black and white text with white pages.
LESSON 4
In this lesson, we’re creating the inside file or the actual pages of the notebook. We’ll set up a book details page (copy direct from the swipe file in lesson 1, or re-vamp and make your own) and we’ll get the file ready for uploading to Amazon.
LESSON 5
In this lesson we’ll go over keywords and categories and discuss why brainstorming search terms and creating a keyword-rich book description is important, even if this is just a notebook you want to use for your existing business.
LESSON 6
This lesson will explain setting up your own Amazon KDP account and walk you through creating your first book listing on your bookshelf.
We’ll also pull together the keyword research we did previously and enter the book details (description, keywords, etc.) and begin uploading our 2 assets: the cover and the interior.
LESSON 7
In this lesson, we’ll review the print preview, check for errors, discuss and set pricing, review royalty potential for your notebook, and if all looks good – push publish!
There is a 72-hour waiting period from Amazon so they can review your files – and it could be any period of time in between – including more than 72 hours.
*For the notebook in this course, it was approved in less than 24 hours. Low-content notebooks tend to be a little faster, but don’t stress if yours is taking a little longer! You’ll get an email once it has been approved.
