Pet Portrait Purrfection Information
Pet Portrait Purrfection is a course designed to teach participants how to create lifelike pet portraits, focusing on mastering the intricacies of capturing furry animals in art.
Learn the tricks to lifelike pet portraits in one of my most anticipated courses
When I reached out to our Facebook group to find out which course you all wanted next, pet portrait mastery was a clear favorite.
It’s easy to see why. Capturing our furry friends in art is both a delightful and intricate skill. While pets are a popular subject, they’re also not the easiest to master.
Putting together this course was quite the journey. It’s probably the most in-depth one I’ve created so far. Getting those fine details just right – and teaching them in a way that’s simple enough for beginners – was a challenge.
But I’m pretty excited about the results. I think I’ve cracked the code and managed to simplify complex techniques to help you create stunning, realistic pet portraits. Can’t wait for you to dive into our fluffiest course yet and see for yourself.
What You’ll Learn In Pet Portrait Purrfection?
18 lessons: 3 exercises, 3 animals, 3 artworks
This 18-hour course consists of 18 lessons, featuring 3 exercises, each focused on a different animal and their unique fur textures and details.
Each exercise in this course is crafted to build your skills in a fun, engaging way. Learn how to get the fur just right and how to capture those unique facial expressions.
Exercise 1: The bunny – Mastering short fur
Dive into the world of short fur with our bunny exercise. You’ll learn to capture the softness and texture of a bunny’s coat, essential for portraying any short-haired animal with realism.
Exercise 2: The cat – Long fur techniques
Challenge yourself with a two-tone, long-furred cat. This lesson is all about layering to recreate the luxurious, flowing fur that cats are famous for. Take the skills you gain from this course and use them to draw other long-furred animals … or even think of your own unique species!
Exercise 3: The dog – Shiny coats and complex features
Tackle the shine of a dog’s coat and the intricate details of their mouth. This exercise is particularly useful for understanding the reflections in dark fur, the complex anatomy of a dog’s mouth, and the nuances of a dog’s facial features – areas where many artists struggle.
By the end of these three exercises, you’ll have three stunning artworks to show off and the skills to confidently approach any pet portrait project. Whether you’re looking to enhance your portfolio, attract commissions, or just enjoy the art of pet portraiture, this course is your gateway to mastering these beloved subjects.
