Have you ever wanted to make your Unreal Engine cinematics feel more… “cinematic”? Then you’re in the right place! This course will teach you fundamental filmmaking techniques that are used on movies and tv shows and how to apply those techniques inside of Unreal Engine 5.
Everything from how cameras and lenses work to how to light your subject with 3 point lighting. And at the end of the lesson, we will demonstrate how to apply these techniques by creating a cinematic inside Unreal Engine from scratch.
Lesson 01 – Lighting
How to utilize the built-in lighting tools in Unreal Engine to create cinematic lighting for your characters and environments.
Lesson 02 – Camera
A deep dive into how cameras and lenses work and how to master camera composition and movement.
Lesson 03 – Cinematic Demo
David Stapp shows you his process for assembling a cinematic from scratch. Presented in real-time, you will see how to compose your shots, light your subjects, and approach your scene with intentionality.
Lesson 04 – Post Processing
This bonus episode gives you a peek behind the curtain at how we take our cinematics across the finish line using post-process effects, editing, sound design, and music. (This lesson is more of a broad overview than a tutorial)
